The D day has come! I'll leave work a bit earlier to make sure I don't miss anything in the opening ceremonies. It's not the sporting events that I'm interested in but all the reports and images of London and the UK. I'll soak myself into the British spirit for the next weeks. People of the UK, the world will be looking at you today, be proud of it.

Watched the opening ceremonies as well! !!!

And here I was thinking that it would be hard to top the Queen's celebrations!

Absolutely loved the show, how they showed us the history of the UK, the Queen's entrance was hilarious and Mr Bean funny as always!  Impressive how David Beckham covered the last part of traveling of the Olympic flame and even more impressive to watch the official moment!  Congrats to the UK for again a wonderful night!!!!

Okay, have to admit: although everything was perfect, I did miss a James Blunt moment, personally I would have preferred him over the A. Monkeys. but I guess we can't have it all, can we??!!!

Andy Murray wins gold in the men's single final. I never thought Murray would win, but he was the better player on the day.

Uk now have 16 gold medals.
